Carol is the Executive Director of the Katy Heritage Society and actively supports the community as a member of the Katy Heritage Society, Katy Literary Club, Friends of the Katy Library, Katy Area Economic Development Council: Place Committee, Angel Committee: City of Katy Be An Angel Park, Katy ARTreach, board of directors, Katy Performing Arts Society, board of directors, Katy Area Chamber of Commerce: Visitors and Tourism Committee, Friends of Katy FFA, Alexander Love Chapter: NSDAR, West Fort Bend County Republican Women: Charter member, and ABWA: Katy WHEN chapter board of directors. Carol was elected as a City of Katy, City Councilmember in 2008.

She is also a member of the University of Houston Alumni Century Club, Texas A&M CCA Ole Sarge, 100 Club: Life member, First United Methodist Church Katy. She has been recognized as Katy Area Chamber of Commerce: Volunteer of the Year, honored with the Greater Houston Preservation Alliance: Good Brick Award twice and NSDAR: Preservation Medal of Honor.

With over 30 working in the field of historic preservation, Carol is trying to work through the Katy Heritage Society to educate the Katy area about local and regional history, unite the greater Katy area with thier heritage and find new volunteers, donors and members to allow the 30 year old non profit to sustain itself and continue to thrive in the community.

The Katy Heritage Society has been working since 1979 to protect and preserve the historic resources of the Katy area for the use, education, enjoyment and economic benefit of present and future generations.
