This is putting our children at higher risk for health
problems such as hypertension, asthma, and diabetes (to
name a few). The most immediate consequence of being overweight
as perceived by the children themselves is social discrimination.
This is associated with poor self-esteem and depression.
To combat this crisis, a charitable non-profit organization
has been formed called "pHat Free Nation" to
eliminate childhood obesity and under-nutrition by the
year 2020. For
