“Trick
or Treat”
Trick or treat? Isn’t that what it feels like sometimes when we are working with
a client or a vendor? Is this relationship a trick or a treat? Is their business
worth the time we’ll spend? Is this going to be long-term, mutually beneficial
and profitable relationship? How can we know for sure? The real answer is that
there’s no way to be certain. There is, however, a simple litmus test we can
take. After you’ve
done the leg work and the spread sheets and the basic business analysis, do this.
Okay, ready? Close your eyes and breathe in. Get a picture of your client. Get
a picture of their company. Think of the relationship, the products and services
to be exchanged. Now, breathe in again. Sit quietly and notice how you feel.
Are you feeling energized and light and happy? Or are you feeling stifled and
laden down and torn? Notice how you feel when you think of them. Notice how you
feel when they call. Now make your decision. It really can be that simple. Trick
or Treat? It's up to you.

dishware, vases, candles, lamps, picture frames, towels,
